OAK CREEK – A Wednesday evening swim in Lake Michigan ends with a drowning death at Oak Creek’s Bender Park.
Oak Creek Fire Chief Michael Kressuk says the call for multiple people struggling in the water came in around 8:25pm Wednesday. Two people were pulled from the water; one of those individuals is now in critical condition at an area hospital.
While life-saving measures were initiated on those two, a bystander noted a third person was still in the water. The body of that individual was later recovered.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office says all three victims are believed to be related, and all are believed to be 17-years-old.
Kressuk says rescue efforts were impacted by high waves and challenging water conditions.
