Wisconsin's Democratic state convention led to what some might consider a surprising result.
Instead of the biggest-name candidate getting the victory in a straw poll at the convention, former State Representative and current CEO of OpenHomes Kelda Roys beat second-place Mahlon Metchell, the President of the Professional Firefighters of Wisconsin, by nearly a 2-1 margin.
Third place Tony Evers, the state's schools superintendent, finished third. Madison Mayor Paul Soglin finished last among the 10 candidates for governor with just 1 of 789 votes.
Of course, voters will choose the final candidate from the Democrats in August's primary election.
As Steve Scaffidi asks, “What to make of the Kelda Roys resurgence at last weekend's Democratic state convention?”
James Wigderson, editor of RightWisconsin.com, joined Steve's show Monday. Listen above.
