About one year after Milwaukee Police arrested and used a stun gun on Milwaukee Bucks guard Sterling Brown, he has opened up about the incident and how the aftermath has changed his journey.
“It was just confirmation it could happen to anybody,” Brown told Shannon Sims from WTMJ sister station TODAY’S TMJ4. “It happens to a lot of black men on a daily basis, and they are not able to be heard.”

Six officers took Brown to the ground, and some of them used a stun gun on him after he double parked in a Walgreen’s parking lot on Milwaukee’s south side. Video from the incident showed he was not confrontational to the first officer who came to the scene, contradicting what the officer told a supervisor.
Brown also spoke to Shannon about how basketball helped him through the experience, and how now it has given him a new mission.
“For me it’s an opportunity for me to step up and be the voice for the voiceless.”
