Like so many other things in 2020, this Memorial Day weekend will be different than others due to coronavirus.
Often celebrated as the unofficial start to summer, fewer trips and get togethers are planned this year.
But Stephanie Klett of VISIT Lake Geneva says local businesses have been working hard to adapt and are now ready for visitors.
“We are very fortunate in Lake Geneva that we are an outdoor destination,” Klett tells WTMJ.
“We have Big Foot Beach State Park, which has six-and-a-half miles of hiking trails, and Kishwauketoe Nature Conservancy with four miles, and the Lake Shore Path with 21 miles, and the White River State Trail with 19 miles. So if you want to dip your toes into easing into travel, maybe you’re not totally comfortable yet, I think the Lake Geneva region is a really great place to start.”
