One person is dead and one is injured after a two-vehicle accident in the Town of Mukwonago Friday afternoon.
The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office says they got word of the accident just before 4:15 p.m. on Highway 83 at Sugden Road.
A 23-year-old Burlington man died at the scene. A 70-year-old Mukwonago man suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
An initial investigation determined the vehicle driven by the Mukwonago man was traveling north on the highway and was turning west onto Sugden when it was struck by the vehicle driven by the Burlington man heading south.
Traffic on Highway 83 around the accident scene was shut down for over three hours as crews investigated and cleaned up.
Assisting the sheriff’s office at the scene were the Wisconsin State Patrol, police from Mukwonago and Eagle, and the Mukwonago Fire Department.
More information will be made available at a later date as the sheriff’s office and the Wisconsin State Patrol continue to investigate.
