MILWAUKEE- Two college students, one at Marquette, the other at Depaul University in Chicago, are taking to the airwaves to honor their late father.
Jenn and Nang Walter lost their dad, Steve, a year ago, and in their grieving, they wanted to find a way to recognize his legacy and do something bigger than themselves… and ended up starting a radio show.
“We were looking for ways to pull together all of his music because that’s something that we really remembered about our dad,” Walter tells WTMJ’s Tony Bettack.
‘Dad Rock Radio’ airs weekly on Marquette’s student station MU Radio and features the music the girls say their father loved. During the 90-minute show that airs each each Friday from 4:30pm until 6, you can expect to hear bands like The Eagles, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, The Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan.
