The death toll for coronavirus-related deaths in Wisconsin reached 1,000 on Tuesday, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
Eight more people who had confirmed cases of coronavirus died in the previous 24 hours, making a total of 1,006 such deaths in the state.
“Even one death from COVID-19 is one too many,” said Gov. Tony Evers in a statement. “To all the Wisconsinites dealing with the loss of a family member, a friend, a coworker, or a neighbor, I express my deepest condolences. Know that our hearts and thoughts are with you, and we are going to continue doing everything we can to fight this virus that has already taken the lives of so many across our state.”
Of the 12,875 tests taken in Wisconsin in the past 24 hours, 724 tests came out positive – 5.3 percent of all tests.
