Another Brewers player has repeat winning a National League honor.
Josh Hader has been named the 2019 Trevor Hoffman National League Reliever of the Year. Â He won the award for the first time in 2018.
“Winning NL Reliever of the Year for the second time is an honor that I don't take for granted,” says Hader. Â “It is especially humbling when you consider the panel of all-time greats who vote on the award. Â I want to thank Craig Counsell, my coaches, and especially my teammates, without whom I would not be in this position. Â I also want to thank the passionate Brewers fans, who have always been very supportive.”
Hader led all Major League relievers with 138 strikeouts this past season. Â He pitched 75.2 innings over 61 games, posting a 2.62 ERA after giving up 41 hits and 20 walks. Â His 37 saves were a new Brewers record for a left-handed pitcher.
Earlier this week Christian Yelich earned his second straight Hank Aaron Award for the National League for his offensive performance during the 2019 season.
