The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office says that a nurse who is contracted to work at the County Jail has had a positive COVID-19 test.
A news release says that nurse had symptoms on Thursday, did not come to work and had the positive test.
She worked at the jail Tuesday, and had personal protective equipment on that day, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
“We are in communication with our medical provider and monitoring the situation in our jail,” said Sheriff Earnell Lucas.
“We will take appropriate steps and ensure that proper quarantine measures are implemented should they become necessary in consultation with our public health professionals in Milwaukee County.”
The news release said that no other medical team members at the jail, no inmates in custody and no other members of the Sheriff’s Office have a positive coronavirus test.
