Six Milwaukee Brewers will be part of the 2019 team based on the one-year contracts they signed Friday.
The team said it made one-year deals, avoiding arbitration, with:
– LHP Alex Claudio
– RHP Zach Davies
– RHP Junior Guerra
– RHP Corey Knebel
– C Manny Pina (with 2020 club option)
– INF Travis Shaw
Claudio came from Texas in a trade for the 39th pick in the upcoming 2019 MLB Draft. He was 4-2 with a 4.48 ERA with the Rangers last year.
Davies was 2-7 with a 4.7 ERA in 13 appearances and 66 innings.
Guerra went 6-9 with a 4.09 ERA in 31 games and 141 innings last season.
Knebel's 2018 including the most saves on the team – 16, to go with a 4-3 ERA and a 3.5 ERA in 57 appearances.
Pina had a .252 bating average, a .702 OPS, nine home runs and 28 RBI in 98 games last year.
Shaw's 2018 was filled with power numbers. It included a .241 average, an .825 OPS, 32 home runs and 86 RBI.
