Marquette’s season of success continues as the nation becomes aware of one of the most athletic and offensively explosive teams in college basketball.
MU has risen to the No. 12 ranking in Monday’s Associated Press Top 25 poll. This is the highest regular season ranking in the Steve Wojciechowski era and the best for the program since 2012.
Marquette’s wins over Georgetown and Providence last week, powered by Big East Player of the Week Sam Hauser and Big East Freshman of the Week Joey Hauser, are the latest in a 16-3 season that has MU a half-game behind Villanova for the top spot in the Big East with two meetings on the schedule against the Wildcats.
Meanwhile, Wisconsin is gaining AP votes after their upset of No. 2-ranked and previously undefeated Michigan, but they did not crack the top 25.
