WEST BEND, Wis. — Police search a middle school in West Bend after receiving reports of a potential threat came through the school’s voicemail.
Students at Badger Middle School were held in their classrooms for over an hour while police searched the grounds before determining there was no active threat on campus.
The school was not placed on a formal lockdown during the police sweep.
While an official statement from police on social media did not identify the content of the voicemail, a message sent from Superintendent Jennifer Wimmer and school principal Patrick O’Conner said the call contained a “vague message about explosives”.
The matter remains under investigation by West Bend Police.
