MILWAUKEE COUNTY, Wis.– More road construction is heading to Milwaukee County.

Governor Evers Wednesday approved an $18.1 million project to improve Highway 100 from Burleigh Street to Silver Spring Drive.

Construction is expected to begin next Monday, September 21.

The first stage will focus on the bridge over the Menomonee River.

The work will begin with bridge replacements, including a new pedestrian path, roadway repairs, ADA curb ramps, and signal upgrades. The bridge will be impassable, and closed, at this time.

The second stage will focus on resurfacing the entire Highway 100 corridor between Burleigh Street and Silver Spring Drive.

Lane closures will follow in Spring of 2027 with the project expected to finish next year in the Fall 2027.

The Wisconsin DOT emphasizes that work is weather dependent and subject to change.
