MILWAUKEE — A man has been charged with several domestic abuse-related felonies after police say his ex-girlfriend shot him when he violated an injunction and tried to break into her home.

Kalvin Wilson, 37, was found with gunshot wounds near 67th St. and Villard Ave. on Sept. 10 after investigators say he broke a window at his ex-girlfriend’s home and tried to get inside. In a criminal complaint, the woman told police that she shot Wilson, who is the father of her child, out of fear for her safety.

According to the complaint, Wilson had physically harassed and yelled at the woman on multiple occasions between July and September 2026. Just days before the shooting, police were called to her home twice in the early morning on Sept. 6, when Wilson allegedly pounded on the door while yelling and broke another window.

Wilson told police that “he did not care and he will be back anyway,” according to the complaint.

The alleged harassment and break-in attempts happened despite Wilson being served a domestic abuse injunction that bars him from all contact with the woman for 10 years.

Police recovered 4.11 grams of cocaine found on Wilson when he was arrested.

Wilson has been charged with three felonies of stalking, violating a domestic abuse injunction and disorderly conduct with repeat domestic abuse modifiers, as well as two misdemeanors of bail jumping and cocaine possession. He has a preliminary hearing set for Sept. 22.

Court records show seven domestic abuse-related misdemeanors were filed against Wilson in a separate case on Sept. 8, and one disorderly conduct charge in another case filed on July 16. He pled not guilty in both cases and has a pre-trial conference set for Oct. 7 in the former.
