The Milwaukee Police Department has identified the community service officer who was killed as 35-year-old Naeem Sarosh.
Sarosh was a four-year veteran with the Milwaukee Police Department and was assigned to District 2.
A 65-year-old suspect was arrested on the scene. Charges are expected to be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the “upcoming days,” according to the Milwaukee Police Department.

Milwaukee Police say they’re mourning the loss of an MPD community service officer who was shot and killed Monday night.
Officers were dispatched to a shooting on the 4800 block of S. 22nd Pl. around 6 p.m.
A 35-year-old victim was found dead at the scene. Police have a 65-year-old suspect in custody.
Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a neighbor dispute.
“This employee was beloved, well-respected and well-liked,” said Acting Milwaukee Police Chief Michael Brunson. “This is a tragic day for the Milwaukee Police Department and this city.”

Milwaukee Police are investigating a critical incident that occurred on the 4800 block of South 22nd Place at approximately 6pm. A press conference regarding this incident will be conducted at 9pm on the northwest corner of 21st and Baryard St.

Police say there is no current threat to the community, but there is a large police presence in the area of 22nd Pl. and Barnard St.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
