Anyone entering almost any Milwaukee County-run facility will now be required to wear face masks to protect against coronavirus, County Executive David Crowley announced Tuesday afternoon.
The move includes almost every county-owned public space with a controlled entry point, including the Milwaukee County Courthouse and Milwaukee County Zoo. The requirement includes all employees, vendors and volunteers as well as the public.
The county will provide face masks for those who enter the facilities and do not have them. Children two and under are exempt from the policy.
In addition, children 12 and under must stay within six feet of their parents or guardians to help with physical distancing.
Masks are highly encouraged, but not required at Milwaukee County Parks including beer gardens, Mitchell International Airport and Milwaukee County Transit System buses. The County says it is working to make masks available for those entering buses.
