MILWAUKEE – The new extension signed by Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo means more than just additional years of exciting basketball at Fiserv Forum.
It also likely means more for the global community.
“Money is important to Giannis, but (The Charles Antetokounmpo Family Foundation) is *very* important to him,” the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Lori Nickel told Wisconsin’s Morning News on Tuesday. “The things he wants to do with that foundation long term (charity and community efforts) will take a lot of money and he wants to finance that on his own.”
But had Giannis waited to sign an extension with the Bucks, he could’ve made more money.
“The difference between $186 million (which he got) versus what Giannis could’ve had ($250 million) makes this decision interesting,” said Nickel.
