“You’ve got to be some kind of masochist to come back here, my friend.”
This is how Chicago Bears “Superfan” Bob Swerski (George Wendt) greeted Green Bay Packers and Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre in an ad for the NBC-TV broadcast of Thursday night’s opener of the 100th season of NFL football.
The record-setting quarterback of the Packers from 1992-2007 owned Soldier Field, going 12-3 in Packers road games at the historic stadium and 23-13 overall. (Not Da Superfans’ claim that Favre was negative-1 and 33 in his career vs. Chicago.)
But that did not stop Da Superfans from touting the blue-and-orange-colored humorous trash talking in support of “Da Bears,” stating Chicago’s victories over the years in claiming the “Ditka Trophy.”
They also pulled out the “Brett Favre Interceptions Calendar.” The MVP had fun with that part of the brilliant skit.
Of course, turn down your TV and turn up Wayne & Larry’s call of the game on WTMJ starting with coverage at 4 p.m. Thursday on-air and worldwide on desktop computer.
