Ron Kind has represented Wisconsin’s third congressional district since 1997.
A lot has changed since his first day in office, much of which he’s proud to have helped shephard. He’s hanging up his congressional cap at the end of his current term in January.
“You always wish you could do more,” Rep. Kind said. “26 years is a long time. It’s been a great personal honor but I never meant for it to be an honor for my entire lifetime.”
Rep. Kind boasted to WTMJ’s John Mercure about recent legislation passed and signed by President Joe Biden including the CHIPS and PACT acts.
“Very proud, long overdue,” he said. “It was disappointing that my Republican collegues were holding it hostage because of a political temper tantrum they were having. The lives of our veterans should never be used as political pawns. Period, full-stop.”
Kind also weighed in on the gubernatorial race in Wisconsin and former President Trump’s impact on the November election. Listen to the conversation above.
