News came last week of a scaled down Democratic National Convention this summer in Milwaukee.
It was also announced that the Wisconsin Center District would be the center of attention, a shift from the previously-announced Fiserv Forum.
Marty Brooks, CEO for the Wisconsin Center District, tells WTMJ they are working hard to make sure all their facilities are ready to go.
“As we understand it today, all three will be used,” says Brooks. “We own and operate the Wisconsin Center- the primary convention center for the state, the Miller High Life Theatre, as well as The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panther Arena. From what we’ve been told, it looks like the convention floor will be the exhibition center of our space.”
Despite a smaller number that originally anticipated, hopes remain high.
“We’re just very excited that there will be people coming to Milwaukee, and that the eyes of the world will be on Milwaukee and also the Wisconsin Center.”
