UPDATE @ 12:13 p.m. 7-30-26— The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner has identified the driver as 20-year-old Mohamed Haris Bon Mahamed Hanif of Milwaukee.
Investigators say he was traveling at a high rate of speed when his car struck the back of a semi-trailer slowing in a construction zone.
He was ejeceted through the windshield and landed about 50 yards from the vehicle.
OAK CREEK, Wis.— A man is dead after a crash involving a semi-truck on I-94 in Oak Creek.
According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies, Oak Creek police and Oak Creek Fire Department crews responded to a crash involving a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle on northbound I-94 near Rawson Avenue late Wednesday night.
First responders performed life-saving measures on the driver of the car, a man believed to be in his mid-to-late 20s. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Because of the severity of the crash, the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction Unit was called to investigate and document the scene. Northbound I-94 was closed between Drexel and Rawson avenues for several hours while investigators worked.
The freeway has since reopened.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
