Menasha Mayor Austin Hammond says the coming days and weeks will remain difficult as the city works to recover from tornado damage, including widespread power outages, downed power lines and water system issues.
An EF3 tornado tore through the Fox Valley region on Monday, July 27 and stayed on the ground for more than 20 minutes.
Hammond told Wisconsin’s Midday News that shelters are open to provide meals, water, cooling areas and phone charging. He said those looking to help should contact Volunteer Fox Cities, which is coordinating volunteer efforts and donations.
Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers also declared a state of emergency following Monday’s storms.
