SAUK COUNTY, Wis. — The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is continuing to search for James Yoblonski from Reedsburg.
Yoblonski was just 13 years old when his family said he took his father’s cell phone and the family van, driving away from home around 1:00 a.m. on June 12, 2023.
Police tracking found that he drove for several hours, stopped twice at his father’s business in Wisconsin Dells, and then abandoned the van along Highway 12 near Baraboo Bluffs, close to Devil’s Lake State Park.
The cell phone and some of his belongings were later found at two different makeshift campsites. Items that went missing from the family home included two wilderness survival guides and a handgun, making authorities believe show Yoblonski trying to live off the land as a survivalist. Web searches also show he looked up how to elave the state.
When he disappeared, Yoblonski was described as 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds. He has green eyes and light brown hair.

William Yoblonski, James father, shared that he has never stopped searching and wants nothing more than to be reunited with his son. He hopes that this message will reach James:
“Today is your birthday, and we all love and miss you so much. I want you to know that your family has not forgotten about you, and we are spending the day together to remember your special day. My life is not complete without you, and I need you to come home.”
December 3 would have been Yoblonski’s 16th birthday, and police believe he may still be in the local or surrounding areas. His case is still considered to be unsolved.
