MILWAUKEE — There are nearly 250 films to see at the 2026 Milwaukee Film Festival, so making your movie choices can be challenging.
To help you decide, I’m sharing my daily picks here on WTMJ’s web site for you to browse and share.
Kicking off the Milwaukee Film Festival is the one and only Bob Uecker.
The world premiere of the full-length feature documentary UECK will screen on Thur, April 16 at the historic Oriental Theatre.
This special event is sold out in the main Abele Cinema, but you can try for Standby tickets for the 8 P.M. screening in the Lubar Cinema.
Standby tickets are last-minute tickets to screenings where all advance tickets have been sold. If available, Standby tickets are sold within 15 minutes of showtime. You’ll need to stand in line outside the Oriental Theatre for this opportunity.
After the Opening Night screenings of UECK, you’re invited to celebrate the start of #MFF2026 with the Opening Night Neighborhood Crawl that is open to the public at various East Side locations.
The following locations will offer discounts to passholders and opening night ticketholders starting at 9:00 PM:
- Vier North (1832 E North Ave)
- Von Trier (2235 N Farwell Ave)
- Landmark Lanes (2220 N Farwell Ave)
- Wayfinder MKE (2108 N Farwell Ave)
- Nadi Plates Food Truck (parked where Farwell meets Ivanhoe Plaza, just follow your nose!)
