MADISON, Wis. — The University of Madison Police are investigating after a body was found in Lake Mendota.
A passerby made the discovery around 6:10 a.m. on July 6 roughly 50 feet offshire near the Memorial Union.
Officers with the help of the Madison Fire Department were able to recover the person from the water, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The individual is described as a middle-aged man, and there does not appear to be signs of fou\l play.
The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released the name of the individual.
