MILWAUKEE — Family members and loved ones of the Milwaukee police officer who was shot in the leg while responding to a tactical, domestic violence situation near Lincoln Park on Tuesday have confirmed that his injuries are non-life-threatening in a GoFundMe page created to support him in his recovery.
According to the GoFundMe campaign organized by the officer’s sister, Heather Morrell on Wednesday afternoon, the Milwaukee police officer suffered a fracture to his left femur and subsequent nerve damage when he was shot in the leg on Tuesday. He has since undergone an operation to address the injuries. His sister described him as ” in good spirits after surgery and doing well.”
However, the road to recovery will have a significant impact on the victim and his wife, who is also a Milwaukee police officer. She explained that the rehabilitation regimen ahead of the recovering officer will be extensive, forcing the husband and wife duo to remain away from work for an extended period.
