The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office has issued the following statement:
There’s no data to share with you now/yet, but generally, MCSO deputies are swamped. Across Milwaukee County freeways, we are hearing about drivers speeding like it’s dry and sunny outside. For example, deputies temporarily closed the southbound lanes of I-43 between Good Hope Rd and Silver Spring due to flooding. Squads were out with emergency lights activated and flares on the road. Drivers still sped past them. Deputies are also trying to help clear clogged sewers in flooded spots. People need to drive accordingly, or crashes will occur and people could get hurt.
8:58 p.m.: A tornado warning has been issued for Kenosha County until 9:30 p.m.
8:52 p.m.: A tornado has been observed in Racine county.
8:48 p.m.: The warning for Walworth and Waukesha Counties has been canceled.
