Waukesha County Judge Jennifer Dorow is running for Wisconsin Supreme Court, the judge announced Wednesday.
“Now is the right time for me and my family to pursue what I hope will be the next chapter of my career,” Dorow said during a news conference at the Waukesha County Courthouse.
Dorow has become a household name for her role in the Waukesha Parade Trial. The support prompted her to run for the seat, she said.
“I have been overwhelmed by the tremendous encouragement to run,” she explained. “I would not have thought about running, had it not been for so many people asking me to (do so).”
Dorow will vie for the seat left open by justice Patience Roggensack, who is retiring.
Former justice Dan Kelly, Dane County Judge Everett Mitchell, and Milwaukee County Judge Janet Protasiewicz are also running for the seat.
