Kenosha County is implementing a curfew for everyone east of I-94 on Tuesday night, after two nights of unrest in the wake of Kenosha Police shooting and injuring a Black man on Sunday afternoon.
The curfew begins at 8 p.m. and lasts until 7 a.m. Wednesday morning. A spokesperson warns all people “to be off the streets for their safety.”
Monday night’s unrest in the wake of the Jacob Blake shooting led to numerous buildings in Kenosha being burned down, along with law enforcement tear-gassing protesters and journalists and a percentage of demonstrators throwing objects and police.
Governor Tony Evers says he is increasing the Wisconsin National Guard presence Tuesday night after 125 members were deployed Monday night.
