Milwaukee Police are searching for suspects connected to two shootings on the city’s north side from Wednesday, January 22, 2020.
The first shooting took place sometime prior to 3:38 p.m. That is when a squad vehicle investigating a traffic crash at North 27th Street and West Auer Avenue was flagged down by a 34-year-old West Allis man who was suffering from a gunshot wound to a lower extremity. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, where he was last listed in stable condition and expected to survive.
An investigation revealed the victim was attempting to purchase drugs in the area of North 29th Street and West Burleigh Street when the drug dealer attempted to rob the victim, later shooting him.
The second shooting took place around 8:19 p.m. Officers responded to a “Shots Fired” call near North 62nd Street and West Lawn Avenue where they found a 20-year-old man suffering from multiple non-fatal gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to the hospital where they are expected to survive. What caused this shooting remains under investigation.
