Terry Gou may no longer be a Foxconn executive but he’s still making predictions about the company’s future in Wisconsin.
According to Bloomberg, Gou told a group of people at a New Years party in Taipei, Taiwan, that it’s his hope that manufacturing will begin at the company’s plant in Mt. Pleasant by the end of the calendar year.
Gou, along with former Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, and President Donald Trump, was a key player in getting Foxconn to invest in south-east Wisconsin back in 2017. During the plant’s groundbreaking in June of 2018, the President even called Foxconn’s planned 10-billion dollar, 20-million square foot, LCD manufacturing plant the ‘8th Wonder of the World.’
The project, however, has changed in size and scope since the June 2018, groundbreaking.
