A road construction project will get underway Monday in Washington County, continuing the rehabilitation project for I-41.
The focus will be the 22 miles from the 41/45 split in Richfield northward to the Dodge County line. Work will include resurfacing the interstate, installing median cable barriers, and replacing two small bridge structures along I-41 just north of State Highway 33.
Traffic impact will consist of single-lane and short-term ramp closures where road crews are working. They will begin between State Highway 144 and County Road K for the cable barrier installation, and between Highway 33 and County Road D for bridge crossovers.
These closures will last through mid-November, when the project will be put on hold for the winter months. It will resume next spring when conditions allow. Completion of the project is expected in the fall of 2020.
