The Green Bay Packers are on top of a division where every team has a winning record. That, after a partially outstanding 34-24 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Partially outstanding, because the Packers owned the ball, owned the Cowboys offense (three interceptions of Dak Prescott) and owned the flow of the game for most of the game’s first 40 minutes.
But they played an incomplete game, as Dallas scared Green Bay in the final 20 minutes with three touchdown drives that turned a 28-point lead into a tenuous 10-point advantage that was going to be seven, until Brett Maher missed a field goal that would have put Dallas within seven points in possibly enough time to kick an onside kick and come back.
The road doesn’t get any easier for the 4-1 Packers, as they next face the 2-1-1 Lions with a share of first place at stake. Detroit is one of eight opponents with winning records on the Packers’ remaining schedule of 11 games.
