Once again, a Super Bowl-winning coach for the Green Bay Packers finds out he will have to wait at least one more year to get the ultimate nod in professional football.
Mike Holmgren, who directed the Packers to victory in Super Bowl XXXI and took three total teams to Super Bowls, will not receive one of the two Centennial Class coaching slots for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
The Hall of Fame said only two slots would be available for coaches. The Hall announced Saturday the former Steelers coach Bill Cowher will receive induction. He won a Super Bowl in Pittsburgh (XL).
The @ProFootballHOF surprised Bill Cowher mid-segment.
