For the third straight day, new daily COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin has surpassed 1,000.
The Department of Health Services reports 1,353 positive cases for Saturday (September 12, 2020) from 11,624 tests analyzed. That is the fourth highest one day total announced since the pandemic began.
The recent rise in daily new cases has increased the rolling seven-day average to a new record high of 1,043. This has also been trending upward since September 3, when this average was 674.
The rolling seven-day average for percentage of positive cases has also seen an upward trend since August 23. It has risen from 7.5-percent to Saturday’s 13.4-percent.
So far during the pandemic 87,603 tests for COVID-19 have come back positive from the 1,351,908 analyzed. 9,467 of them are considered active.
There were 12 deaths announced Saturday connected to COVID-19. That increased this total throughout the pandemic to 1,209.
The statewide hospitalization rate for COVID-19 is at 326. That has trended upward when compared to the past weekend.
