Nothing has been made official just yet, but multiple reports say that Matt LaFleur will be named the 15th head coach in Packers history.
Who is Matt LaFleur, and what does he bring to the table? Longtime NFL scribe, and Nashville radio host, Paul Kuharsky spent the 2018 season up close with the LaFluer-led Tennessee Titans offense. He joined Greg Matzek on Monday night’s Sports Central to share his insights.
As far as the lackluster Titans offense in the 2018 season? Kuharsky, who has covered the NFL for over two decades, didn’t see many teams clamoring for LaFleur just yet.
“This offense wasn’t great this year. Most people [in Tennessee] suspected that meant the Titans would have some continuity on offense for the first time in a while, and that he’d be around for another year.”
Kuharsky believes the hire puts the Packers ahead of the curve with coaches. “People want young, charismatic football coaches who have some offensive creativity in their pocket.”
