Orange markers show where fiber optic routes will go, along with new 5G antennas that'll usher in a new age of blazing web speeds, much faster digital streaming and new technologies that could include driverless cars.
For some, 5G raises safety concerns about potential radiation risks.
UW-Madison Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Akbar Sayeed joined Wisconsin’s Morning News to explain the new technology and to discuss any possible risks.
