WTMJ’s Jeff Sherman was joined by Jesus Gonzalez, co-founder of Mazorca Tacos and Zócalo Food Park both located at the corner of 6th street and Pierce in Milwaukee’s Walker’s Point neighborhood. Gonzalez, who comes from a first generation immigrant family, called Walker’s Point “the Ellis Island of Milwaukee”.
The purpose of Zócalo is to help other food entrepreneurs to have a place to start and later expand to their own brick and mortar locations. Anytime Arepa and Dairyland are several local restaurants that have had a space at Zócalo over their 6 years of operation.
Eventini is Jesus’s latest venture, which helps vendors connect with local events and saving time for event organizers and vendors alike.
The Upswing is presented by Horicon Bank.
