JACKSON, Wis. — A house caught fire in Jackson after it was likely struck by lightning during Wednesday night’s severe weather.
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, neighbors reported hearing a loud boom, then saw smoke and flames near State Road 60 and Division Road around 10:15 p.m. on April 15.
The sheriff’s office said one neighbor then used a fire extinguisher to put out some of the flames, but the fire had already spread inside the home.
No one was inside the home at the time of the fire. Damage estimates are $335,000 to the house and a vehicle.
