U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin appeared on 620 WTMJ’s Point Taken with Steve Scaffidi and Kristin Brey on Wednesday from Washington D.C. They discussed the funding proposal in front of Congress for Homeland Security, and specifically questions swirling around the Immigration & Customs Enforcement Agency, better known as ICE.
Senator Baldwin highlighted her concerns over the lack of law enforcement protocols among the ICE agents, including the wearing of face masks, and their failure to work with local law enforcement and community leaders on their enforcement efforts.
The Senator also spoke to the latest information she had on a federal shutdown of airspace in and around El Paso, Texas. That closure, since lifted, may have been related to drone incidents involving Mexican drug cartels in that specific airspace.
Senator Baldwin is in her 3rd term as Senator for the State of Wisconsin. Her current term expires in January of 3031.
Point Taken airs Monday through Friday, from 10 – Noon on 620 WTMJ.
