The City of Milwaukee, in conjunction with the Secret Service, has released key information on the security footprint and other plans of the 2020 Democratic National Convention, to be held in downtown Milwaukee in July.
On the north end: Cherry Street
On the south end: Clybourn Street
On the west end: 10th Street
On the east end: Water Street
“It is subject to change,” explained Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales. “We will continue to evaluate our plans.”
“The rest of the city will receive the same level of service that they would receive on any given day.”
The mayor said the city’s normal operations would not stop in that key commerce and entertainment area of the city.
“No businesses will be asked to close,” said Mayor Tom Barrett.
“I’m advocating to make sure any security measures are reasonable for the people who live and work here.”
City leaders says that if residents have questions about DNC security, they should e-mail [email protected] with them.
