PLOVER, Wis. — Vice President JD Vance made a stop in the Badger state Thursday to tout President Trump’s agenda ahead of the midterm elections.
Vance spoke at a manufacturing facility in Plover, just south of Stevens Point.
“Wisconsin is a state with a proud tradition of building great American products and that’s what we are here to celebrate today in this great facility,” said Vance.
The Vice President also pushed the administration’s plan for affordability, health care and farm prices.
“I happen to believe that we do not want our young people to be permanent renters,” said Vance. “In the society that was built by our parents and grandparents, we are going to fight for our young families to own a home. And that’s exactly what we’ve been doing over the past year.”
The visit to Portage County comes as Republicans and Democrats push their message ahead of the November election.
It’s a competitive district represented by Republican U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden.
National Democrats have said this week it’s one of two Republican-held districts in Wisconsin they are trying to flip this fall.
