WAUKESHA, Wis. — The teen accused of killing his parents and stealing their money to plan an assassination attempt on President Trump pled guilty to two charges of 1st degree intentional homicide.
Prosecutors dropped seven other felony charges against now 18-year-old Nikita Casap in the deaths of his mother Tatiana Casap and his stepfather Donald Mayer in February 2025 in exchange for the pleas. Those felonies included hiding a corpse, theft of moveable property, taking a vehicle without consent, misappropriating ID information to obtain money, and intimidating a witness.
Each homicide count carries a mandatory life prison sentence.
According to a criminal complaint, Casap shot his stepfather and mother at their home in Waukesha around February 11, and then fled across the country in his stepfather’s SUV. He took $14,000 in cash, jewelry, passports, his stepfather’s gun and the family dog.
His parents bodies were discovered on February 28 after a wellfare check, and he was arrested the same day during a traffic stop in WaKeeny, Kansas.
Federal authorities have accused Casap of planning his parents’ murders, buying a drone and explosives and sharing his plans with others, including a Russian speaker. They said in a federal search warrant that he wrote a manifesto calling for President Trump’s assassination and was in touch with others about his plan to kill President Trump and overthrow the U.S. government.
Casap will be sentenced on March 5.
