MILWAUKEE COUNTY — Drivers in southeast Wisconsin will notice impacts along the Hale Interchange as resurfacing and improvement projects could take up to 45 days.
This is part of the ongoing I-41/43/894 and Hale Interchange work done by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) starting Tuesday, September 2.
Long-term ramp closures in the Hale Interchange include:
- The Hale Interchange E-S system ramp (I-894 westbound/I-43 southbound/I-41 northbound to I-43 southbound towards Beloit) is scheduled to close to traffic for approximately 45 days for bridge work starting September 2 at 9:00 p.m.
- Recommended Detour:
- Drivers should use the northbound I-41/southbound I-43/westbound I-894 exit ramp to 76th Street, 76th Street, and Layton Avenue to get around this closure.
- Recommended Detour:
- The Hale Interchange S-E system ramp (I-43 northbound to I-894 eastbound/I-43 northbound/I-41 southbound towards MKE airport) is scheduled to close to traffic for approximately 45 days for bridge work starting September 5 at 6:00 a.m.
- The WIS 100 entrance ramp to I-43 northbound is scheduled to close for approximately 45 days also starting September 5 at 6:00 a.m.
- Recommended Detour:
- Drivers are encouraged to take the northbound I-43 exit ramp to Layton Avenue, Layton Avenue, and the 60th Street entrance ramp to northbound I-43 to get around this closure.
