WEST ALLIS, Wis. — Wisconsin State Fair cancel the final day of the 11-day run after heavy storms and flash flooding swept through the area.
Fair officials ended operations early on August 9 as the storms dropped heavy amounts of rain on the grounds, forcing safety to be the top priority to ensure fair goers, vendors, and staff could safely leave.
Two big concerts were affected by the closures: the Lynyrd Skynyrd main stage show was canceled for August 9, and the “Happy Together” Tour scheduled for August 10will not take place.
Fairgoers who bought tickets through the official provider Etix will receive automatic refunds within the next one to two weeks. Cash purchasers can claim refunds at the Fair Ticket Office during weekday business hours by bringing their tickets and ID.
Because the Fair only runs 11 days, there won’t be any rescheduling of the canceled shows.
