MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee Police investigating multiple shootings that happened Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning after 2 homes were shot into and a vehicle pursuit that left a 15-year-old-boy hospitalized after running on foot onto the freeway.
The first shooting happened Tuesday night near the 2800 block of N. 41 St. around 9:03 p.m. A 19-year-old woman in Milwaukee was in her home when bullets entered the house from outside. She was stuck before being transported to a local hospital where she is expected to survive.
The second shooting happened Wednesday night near the 8800 block of W. Hampton Ave. around 1:30 a.m. A 74-year-old man in Milwaukee faced the same fate. He was home when bullets came flying in from outside, striking him. He was taken to the hospital shortly after and is expected to survive.
The investigation to what caused the shootings is still ongoing and no suspect(s) have been arrested.
MPD were also involved in a vehicle pursuit Tuesday night around 11:48 p.m. near Locust St. Police spotted a vehicle that was used in an armed robbery and pulled it over for a traffic stop. The vehicle sped off and police chased. The suspect ended up crashing into the curb near Lisbon Ave, ending the pursuit. All of Milwaukee; a 17-year-old boy, a 16-year-old boy, a 16-year-old girl, a 15-year-old boy, and a 14-year-old boy, were arrested. The 15-year-old boy ran on foot onto the freeway where he was hit by a vehicle and taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Police recovered a firearm and criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
A couple more shootings took place overnight. The third shooting occurred early Wednesday morning near the 5800 block of N. 71st St. around 1:50 a.m. A 34-year-old woman in Milwaukee. The fourth shooting happened Wednesday morning near the 3300 block of N. 35st St. around 2:46 a.m. An 18-year-old man in Milwaukee was shot. Both are expected to survive.
