Denita Ball has won the Democratic primary to become the next Milwaukee County Sheriff. Ball was in a 3-way primary to replace Sheriff Earnell Lucas after Lucas decided not to run for reelection.
Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes has been projected as the winner of the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate. He was the frontrunner in the race since entering more than a year ago and was all but guaranteed a win tonight after all of his major primary opponents dropped out last month. Barnes will take on incumbent Republican Senator Ron Johnson in November.
First race of the night is called. 5th District Congressman Scott Fitzgerald wins his primary.
