When their morning radio show starts in January, it won’t take very long for Melanie Ricks and Joe Brown to get into a rhythm.
“We’ve worked together for a long time,” Brown told WTMJ’s Wisconsin’s Morning News. “We know each other’s strengths.”
Ricks and Brown have been the in-game hosts for the Milwaukee Bucks the last six years. In January, they’ll become partners on a new morning show on 101.7 The Truth, a new radio station targeting the city’s black community..
“This station represents our community,” Ricks explained. “There is not just one strand of Milwaukee. We come in many size, shapes, forms, and colors.”
The morning show runs 7a-10 M-F. Brown will be using the snooze button on the alarm clock, he admitted.
“You turn into a mathematician when you’re tying to figure out how much more time you can spend in bed,” he laughed.
WTMJ Radio and The Truth are both owned by Good Karma Brands.
