I knew that would get you to click…and guess what? It’s true.
We’ll get to that in a minute, but first, I’ve decided to make an executive decision.
It’s time to shut up about Aaron Rodgers’ weapons…or lack thereof.
I’ve been working in sports media in some capacity in the state of Wisconsin since 2010.
This has been a storyline for as long as I can remember.
When are the Packers going to get Aaron Rodgers the help that he needs?
He’s got no run game. He’s got no wide receivers. He’s got no tight ends. The coaching is bad. Fire Ted.
Want to face a real harsh reality? Sometimes, Aaron Rodgers has been the problem.
But, that’s a song for another time.
It’s time for this all to stop.
The Packers are 25-7 in their last 32 games.
Davante Adams is the unquestioned best wide receiver in football.
Marquez Valdez-Scantling has as many touchdown catches as DeAndre Hopkins, Stefon Diggs, and Amari Cooper.
Robert Tonyan is tied with all-world tight end Travis Kelce for the most touchdown catches in football.
Aaron Jones is statistically a top ten running back in the league. He might price himself out of Green Bay.
How about Jamaal Williams, who will finish the season with well over 500 yards on the ground as a backup?
One of the brightest, most well-regarded young minds in the NFL is calling the plays.
Now, I know what you’re thinking…”Bryan, what about the defense? It’s awful!”
Would you be shocked if I told you they’ve crept into the Top 10 in yards allowed per game?
They’re 8th.
8th!
So, I’ll finish where I started: it’s time to shut up about Aaron Rodgers’ lack of weapons.
They’ve got all the talent they need.
If they don’t win the Super Bowl this year, they’ll have no one to blame but themselves.
