In a normal year, the NFL season is a grind.
Add in a global pandemic, regular COVID-19 testing, and added responsibility away from work, it would understandable for Packers’ players to be struggling toward the end of the regular season.
That’s not the case. Quite the opposite, actually.
There’s an upbeat attitude at practice that only success can bring.
“They should enjoy it,” Packers head coach Matt LaFleur tells WTMJ. “They’re playing a kid’s game and getting paid to do it. What’s there not to enjoy about it?
Fun and hard work can coexist. The head coach thinks his team is still focused, even after clinching a division championship last weekend in Detroit.
“I feel like the sense of urgency has been there.”
It needs to be there against the Carolina Panthers, a team that’s been much more competitive than their record indicates.
“I know their record is 4 and 9,” says LaFleur. “…but they’ve lost 7 games by less than a touchdown.”
The Packers will need to bring their A-game on Saturday night to get a win.
Kickoff from Lambeau is set for 7:15. You can hear the game on 620 WTMJ.
